June/July 2009 - Trade Show Fun!!
It’s Spring time, that’s fun time at Auburn. In June and July we celebrate with our annual Spring Trade Show and this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! Every day we have a different manufacturer special with big savings. Along with these, many days we also have special gift give-a-ways with purchases. This year we have a great list of special give-a-ways, light-up pens, travel mugs, box cutters, stand-up staplers, golf balls, tote bags, we even have a limited supply of vintage pharmacy magazines all between 75-100 years old! One day we’re going to be giving away a special gift, a brand-new iPod Shuffle 4GB with certain purchases. The best gifts of all though are the special discounts you’ll be getting each and every day!
So, look over the calendar of specials for the next 2 months; plan your purchases in advance. Check with your Auburn rep as they’ll have all of the details of how to get our daily give-a-ways.
03/01/09 - News You Can Use
The problems at KV, and their Ethex and Ther-Rx divisions continue to mount. What started out as a recall on a couple of items has now resulted in KV recalling almost all of their items including not just tablets but also liquids, creams, capsules and soft gel capsules. In order to conserve cash while they attempt to get through their problems they have recently reduced their workforce by 700 employees. We have been able to source all of their products elsewhere including the Primacare One (on special this month) and the generic Toprol, which is still in short supply.
Taro Pharmaceutical has just announced that their Canadian facility received an FDA Warning letter which raised concerns over certain quality control issues. The letter was the result of an inspection in July 2008, Taro said that they have already begun corrective actions.
Caraco, who received a Warning letter in October 2008 has announced that they responded to the FDA with their corrective actions and the actions will be evaluated during their next inspection. They seem confident that the inspection will go well and they can put this behind them.
I have been reading more reports of counterfeit drugs entering the market place recently. While it’s been a long time since I’ve seen this involve generic drugs it can happen. In order to protect yourself from being unwittingly involved in this the most important thing is that you know where your pharmaceuticals came from and have been. Rest assured that everything you buy from Auburn comes directly from the manufacturer or their designated representative. Nothing is purchased from the secondary market. This protects you and your customers.
Hopefully by the time that you read this our CSOS testing will be complete and we’ll be ready to start accepting electronic C2 orders. Talk to your Auburn rep about getting set up with us so that you’ll no longer need to use DEA-222 forms. We continue adding to our C-2 line of products, we now have in stock morphine solutions and recently added a second line of less expensive generic Duragesic Patches to save you a lot of money!
